CLEVELAND METROPARKS DESIGN CHARRETTE | PARKS IN A PANDEMIC
OCTOBER 2ND - 5TH | SPRING 2020
[Adobe Illustrator ; Adobe Photoshop]
In collaboration with the Cleveland Metroparks, the 2020 design charrette focused on Brookside Reservation, Brighton Park, and the surrounding neighborhoods. The goals were to identify opportunities for 1) retrofitting the parks for the pandemic, 2) improving neighborhood-park connections via main access roads and "back door" entrances, and 3) establishing greater community pride and interaction within the park network.
I focused on creating "catalogs" of design strategies that could aim to address these 3 issues using interactive artwork, differing scales of signage, personalized and unique trailheads, and more. Using these, the parks and surrounding neighborhoods can communicate more clearly and encourage active (and safe) interaction within the park system.
